Connecting is an action that seeks to connect meditation and deep listening exercises with the revaluation and recognition of the Oaxaca biodiversity, as well as to symbolically connect the artist with his cultural roots and ancestors.
The performance consists of the reinterpretation of John Cage’s piece entitled Branches (1976), which has a series of instructions for its execution and a list of instruments and materials of plant origin that are percussed, intervened and amplified in different ways.
For the action, two endemic plants were selected from the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve. The Chilhuacle chili (capsium anuum) and the Nopal de Cruceta (Acanthocereus tetragonus)
